BW-Youth Group Bake Sale Fundraiser

Yup, you read it right, Youth Group is having a bake-sale fundraiser!

The Burlington-Waterdown Youth Group is looking to do a little fund raising for our upcoming season so we have decided to hold a bake sale on November 15. The proceeds will go to youth-group outings, and other fun activities for the group. So why not fill your stomachs with butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies or delectable brownies and support Youth Group! Just fill out the order form listed below and drop if off in the box at the back of the church by November 9. All cheques can be made payable to "Burlington Waterdown Youth Group" and all payments can be picked up when you receive your baked goods.

As an added bonus WE DELIVER!

Hey everyone,

I recently took a picture from our hike, and did a little editing to it - and turned it into a wallpaper. Feel free to download it, below are the two different sizes I made it. Just right-click on the image and save it to your computer.

thoughts on Evangelism

Wow. I had high expectations for Rev. Bezuyen's talk, but they were far exceeded!
I think I'm going to have an interesting week. I'd like to think I'll keep the fire that was kindled in me tonight, but the sad reality is I'll probably go back to the old habits, the old sins.
I'll let the odd swear-word slip, I'll make fun of someone just because people around me are, I won't do my work to the best of my ability...

But this will come to mind, I'm sure- I am a light to all those around me, at school - even if it is a Christian school, at home - even to my little sister, everywhere I go. I am, whether I like it or not, an ambassador of the Christian Faith.
Here's praying I don't spoil our reputation.

Love. Joy. Peace. Patience. Kindness. Goodness. Faithfulness. Gentleness. Self-control. Just thought I'd remind myself (and maybe you) what we're supposed to be modeling.

Have a Blessed week. And Get Stoked For Roots Community Day.

Love.

T-Shirts!

Hey All,

T-Shirts are in! For those of you who paid so far, you can grab your t-shirt off me (Mike) on Sunday. For the rest who haven't paid dues yet (you and we know who you are ... :D ) you can get your shirt as soon as you pay up. In case you forgot how much dues were, it was $15.00 for the year, which includes extracurricular expenses and the running of youthgroup on the whole!

So thanks again, and hope you're stoked for the tee's!

Mike

Minutes of the Leader Meeting

Hey Everyone,

Here are just a few key things we covered in the meeting we had last night.

- Roadside Assistance Magazine: If you're interested interested, just talk to any of us leaders or speak with Laura Kieft and we'll get you set up with a magazine subscription! You can read more about the magazine on their website at: http://roadsideassistancemagazine.com/index.php

- Leading meetings: At the next meeting, we'll be passing around a sign-up sheet for those interested in leading a meeting in the future. It really isn't difficult at all, basically all you have to do is just read the questions during the study period, and just give your thoughts on them, and get other to participate. If you feel like doing more or leading along-side someone else, you can do that too! Its all up to you, we'd love to see more participation in leadership because in the future, it might be you who's leading the BW Youth Group!

- Bulldogs Game: We're looking to organize a Bulldogs game hopefully in the future. The game would most likely be the Hamilton Bulldogs vs Toronto Marlies (because I want to see Justin Poggee + Jiri Tlusty play) but their soonest available games are Feb/March. Tickets would cost most likely $16.00 per person, the more people that come the cheaper!

- Upcoming Events:
October 19th - Hike + Potluck Dinner + Rev. Bezuyen Speech (more info to follow soon)
November 1st - Kids Night
November 15th - Bake Sale Fundraiser
